River Rafting, American River 2011

This last weekend was a blast for all of us at River Runners. We enjoyed sharing the South Fork American River with lots of old friends. Many of our customers who came for a weekend rafting trip had been coming for many years. It felt like a family reunion. River Rafting is just the best way to share good times with good people.

With the higher than normal snowfall that we have enjoyed this winter, comes a higher than normal spring runoff for whitewater rafting!

Those of you who enjoyed this great year of skiing or snowboarding will also enjoy this rafting season. With the higher water comes bigger rapids and faster water. This is a great combination for rafting enthusiasts. The rafting season of 2011 will be remembered as an epic one.

One precaution that is important to remember is to dress accordingly. Wetsuits are strongly recommended for our early season trips, April-Early June. With the extra water and bigger rapids, comes the chance of being in the water longer if you happen to fall in.

If you do not have access to a wetsuit, we recommend two local sources.

Either of the above will need you to reserve ahead, especially if you are rafting on a weekend. They will need your Name, Sex, Height and weight.
